How to Submit Manuscripts
for Consideration |
Submissions will be considered June through December, so please do not send any submissions
prior to June 1. Also, you must specifically follow the
submission guidelines below. Upon arrival in our office we will
read your submission and advise accordingly. Those who follow
the guidelines will also receive free editing advice. (See our Free Editing Advice page for
more information.)
1.
Your Genre
We are
interested in reviewing only the following types of books:
(a) Poetry collections dealing with a consistent theme.
You should have at least 100 poems for this collection,
although we only need to see five (as attachments to
your email to us)
(b) Novels which have been carefully proofread for
style, grammar, and spelling. They can be children’s
chapter books or adult books—but please do not submit
novels that deal with erotica, horror, or
gay/lesbian themes.
(c) Nonfiction works that can be children’s books or
adult memoirs or biographies. Again, no erotica, horror, or
gay/lesbian themes.

How to Submit

Submit
only by email - (we do not accept submissions
sent to us via US mail)

In
the subject line of your email type: Hill Song
Press Submission

In
the body of your email, please include:
- your name
- email address
- genre
- word count
- number of chapters or poems that make up your
manuscript
- manuscript
title
- brief summary of your work (not to exceed 175
words)

In
one attachment,
For Novels and Nonfiction.... provide both the first
chapter and no more than a two-page synopsis,
- all content must be double-spaced
For Poetry...
provide five poems from your collection (collection must
consist of at least
75 poems)

Attachment's
document name should be labeled as: last
name-title-date
-For example:
