Only those individuals who submit manuscripts to Hill Song Press for consideration and who have followed our guidelines, will be entitled to free editing advice.
At Hill Song Press we have an established base of editors with whom we are able to work. They include two professional editors, an accomplished poet, and a top writer of techno-thrillers who has done numerous workshop presentations on how to write and publish a novel.
One of the things which sets Hill Song Press apart from other presses is that we are more interested in helping writers than we are in making huge profits from the sale of your book. For those writers who submit their writing project and follow our instructions on submission, our editorial department is willing to offer suggestions on a one-time basis on how the writing might be improved to be more marketable.
This means that even if your manuscript synopsis and/or chapter is rejected, we are willing to take the time to go over your material and pick out some obvious points that could be improved. This won’t be as thorough critique such as one you might expect from a critique service but it will provide you with some important thoughts on improving your manuscript.
Let us emphasize that there is absolutely no charge for this, and it’s our way of supporting your endeavors. But again, this is a one-time thing. Please don’t resubmit your manuscript to us for further evaluation after you’ve already made the changes we’ve suggested. While we do want to help you, we would not be able to afford an ongoing critical evaluation of your work, nor will we accept any payment for any advice we may offer you.
Good luck!
